My melancholy friend

My melancholy friend

I see your wings dropping atop the floor again.

Downcast and sullen, your fiery red curls hide your lovely face.

Who are these monsters that give you chase?

Is it the fridged cold and lack of sun?

Or has life in general gotten a bit unreal, all work and no fun?

Some say, If you can pinpoint the reasons why,

You can change your reality and brighten your own skies.

No matter the how or why's

Just know...

Many hearts are torn and many feel dread.

If it is comfort you seek

My arms will hug you and my shoulder always has a place for your sweet head.

My melancholy friend.                    Our bond has passed the test of time and being sad is not a crime.

Just remember people can't read minds, so talk it out and free yourself of undo burdens...

and buy a pound of chocolate works for me all of the time.
